Shopping for an iPhone? These stores offer $200-$300 discounts for Black Friday

LOS ANGELES — The iPhone, which is rarely discounted, is getting some major love from big-box retailers for the Thanksgiving shopping holiday. Walmart has the best deal so far, offering $300 off in the form of a gift card for the coveted iPhone X, which starts at $999, as well as the 8 and 8 Plus and last year’s 7 and 7 Plus. The catch is that you need to sign a two-year lease deal with wireless carriers AT&T or Verizon.Target and Best Buy’s Black Friday iPhone specials are for the 8 and 8 Plus models, with a $250 gift card from Target and $200 from Best Buy. Both require service with Verizon, AT&T or Sprint.The Best Buy offer is available both in-store and online from Thursday, Nov. 23 through Saturday. For Target, also available Thursday through Saturday, customers need to come into the store to pay for it and activate service. The iPhone X, the most expensive iPhone to date, went on sale November 3 and quickly sold out within two days. It currently has a two-to-three week backlog for deliveries, according to the Apple website.
