A Sanford Wal-Mart employee’s attempt at providing excellent customer service led to her arrest on a grand-theft charge, according to authorities.Police say Jennifer Miller, 37, got bad customer service marks on an employee review while working in the auto department at the Rinehart Road store.To improve her rating, Miller gave away free oil changes, tire services and batteries — totaling more than $1,500, police said.When managers confronted Miller about the alleged theft, she told them, “You said I have poor customer service so I gave away free products and service to make customers happy,” according to court documents.Security cameras caught Miller giving away free merchandise in at least seven separate incidents since January, authorities said.Miller was fired from the Wal-Mart and taken to the Seminole County Jail on a $2,000 bond.Michael Williams can be reached at [email protected], 407-420-5022 or @michaeldamianw.Interactive map: Every homicide in Central Florida »
