Television football pundit Chris Kamara has issued a tongue-in-cheek response after fans suggested an e-fit image of a man wanted by police looked like him. Humberside Police released an image earlier this week of a man who officers wish to trace in connection with an attack on a Cleethorpes woman in an attempt to force entry into her home. The man was said to be wearing a white safety helmet and a hi-viz vest when he barged past the woman at her doorway on Trinity Road after making a sinister threat. He was described as either eastern European or Turkish, in his 30s or 40s with a moustache. He was around 5ft 8in tall and had “very dark eyes”. Scores of responses to the image were posted on social media after it was released on Tuesday, with many saying it looked like the former Leeds United, Sheffield United and Bradford City player, now best-known for his regular appearances on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday programme. Commenting on the image on Grimsby Live’s Facebook page, Nicholas Jon Ashley wrote: “Wait what?!?! That Chris Kamara??”, while others posted Kamara’s “unbelievable Jeff” Soccer Saturday catchphrase.
