Nagpur: There are several issues that may not find place in any of the partiesâ manifesto nor are raised on any major public front, yet cutting across political affiliations they remain important for voters, with hopes that the party coming to power may look into them. TOI talked to a cross section of people, from professionals to pensioners, seeking their views. While the young doctors planning to take up further education are unhappy over reservation system, pensioners from private sector and state government organizations feel social security has been completely ignored. Ban on single use plastic has also raised concern among several industries. Organisations from minority communities said in the last five years focus was more on developing communal hatred than economic front. âStringent norms were imposed on financial schemes for minorities like the Maulana Azad scholarship programme making it difficult to avail of the benefits by many. There is hardly any incentive for the small businessmen,â said United Students Association president Javed Ansari.
