Hull FC continued their winning start to the season with a thrilling derby victory over KR. Warrington cruised past champions St Helens with Castleford and Salford also picking up wins. Our man Nigel Wiskar takes his weekly look at the action, thinks twice about accepting a pint from Ben Westwood and spills the beans on a mascot’s pistol prank. 1) Josh centre of attention He’s not the flashiest of centres and certainly not the fastest. But there’s something solidly reliable about Hull FC’s Josh Griffin which makes him a permanent starter in a team full of bigger names on bigger money. Griffin set up a try for Marc Sneyd then cantered over himself to take the game beyond rivals Rovers in the 25-16 derby win. It’s no consolation and there are no points for it but I’d give KR the moral victory with a hugely impressive show against a far more lauded side.
