Australian Open: Cameron Norrie beats Dan Evans to reach second round in Melbourne

Cameron Norrie defeated Dan Evans in an all-British clash to reach the Australian Open second round for the first time in his career. British No 1 Evans, seeded 30th, won his first tour-level title on the eve of the delayed first Grand Slam but was beaten 6-4 4-6 6-4 7-5 in just under three-and-a-half hours.Norrie, the British No 3, reached the semi-finals at the Delray Beach Open before arriving in Australia last month.
