Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys agreed to terms on a new contract earlier this spring , keeping the franchise player at the helm for four more seasons for $160 million. It was a gargantuan deal for a player coming off an ankle injury that shortened his 2020 season and one that took years in the making after Prescott played under the franchise tag last fall . Former Cowboys coach Jason Garrett , who couldn’t get Dallas over the hump and past the divisional round in the playoffs, was Prescott’s head coach for four seasons prior to his exit after the 2019 campaign to pursue play-calling duties with the New York Giants.
