Promoting local culture in walking street around Hoan Kiem lake
According to Nguyen Van Truc, who is Head of the Department of Art Management under the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sport, the project will set the standard for future performances in the city. The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sport has sent a document to the cultural management agencies of other provinces and cities, inviting them to come to Hanoi and enact special cultural and artistic performances on the streets around Hoan Kiem Lake. Hanoi has created the perfect conditions for the localities, with regards to performance space and security. Deputy PM Dung urges for urgent response to erosion in Mekong Delta
Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung made this observation at a meeting with leaders of related ministries, agencies and Mekong Delta provinces on the prevention of landslides, coastal erosion and mangrove forest depletion, which took place in Ca Mau Province on May 29. Earlier the same day, the senior government official joined a field survey on an excursion to some erosion points along the western coast of Ca Mau. Vietnam attends Thailand Rice Convention
Organised by the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, the event features the participation of nearly 1,500 delegates from more than 40 countries and territories, comprised of representatives from rice-producing and exporting countries, as well as rice importers and traders from such countries as China, Japan, Malaysia, Iraq, Iran, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Lao. Thailand Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the opening ceremony on May 29. On the occasion, the Prime Minister gave a keynote speech on the topic "Thai Rice Trade and Its Future”. NA Chairwoman: Vietnam treasures ties with Japan
At a reception for Yukio Edano, Deputy Secretary General of the Democratic Progressive Party of Japan (DPPJ) in Hanoi on May 29, Chairwoman Ngan expressed her delight at the flourishing ties between the two nations, suggesting the Japanese official and other parliamentarians of the DPPJ, as well as those of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Union (JPFPU) uphold their role in fostering the bilateral relationship and mutual understanding.
