Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc speaks at the event (Photo: VNA) Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – The central and Central Highlands regions have favourable conditions to develop various types of tourism such as resort, heritage, culture, sea and island, mountain and cave exploration, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said at a conference held in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on February 16. The event was jointly held by 19 cities and provinces in the regions to seek ways to promote tourism. PM Phuc said the regions have a lot of potential to develop catering and entertainment services as well as attract investment from finance, banking, insurance, and health sectors. Boat services from Ly Son to mainland receive post-Tet boost
The number of passengers travelling on the maritime route between Ly Son island and Sa Ky Port in the central province of Quang Nam enjoyed a sharp increase after Tet. Each day sees about 2,500 to 3,000 passengers travelling from Ly Son island to the mainland. This year, six high-speed vehicles have been put into operation on the Sa Ky-Ly Son route to transport passengers from the mainland to the island and vice versa. With use of the high-speed boats, the journey only takes between 30 and 35 minutes , whilst previously the journey had taken over an hour. The management board of Ly Son island has co-ordinated its efforts with relevant agencies to increase the number of boat services and to ensure the safety of passengers. Nearly 4,000 additional seats on Hanoi – HCMC flights ’til Feb 17
The additional seats will be available until the end of February 17, raising total seats on flights from Ha Noi to HCMC to 40,000 during the five peak days on the route. This is the second time the national flag carrier added more seats in the period after Tet holidays. Earlier, from February 9 to 11, the carrier added 200-400 seats on the flights from Ha Noi to HCMC, increasing total available seats to 9,000-10,000 per day for this route.
