Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney called some of President Joe Biden’s actions while in office “heartless” during a Sunday morning appearance on “Fox News Sunday.”Anchor Chris Wallace asked Cheney at the end of a lengthy interview to evaluate Biden’s first few weeks, notable for a record number of executive orders that included terminating a key lease needed for the Keystone XL pipeline. “It’s really heartbreaking in many ways, Chris, because we watched the inaugural speech where he spoke of unity, where he spoke of trying to work together and the immediate actions we’ve seen with respect to things like canceling the Keystone pipeline, it’s heartless. It really is,” she told Wallace. ‘Purple America’ will set political direction in 2022
Six states were at the epicenter of the 2020 election and the bogus post Nov. 3 fiasco: Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina and Georgia — all were closely decided, and they provided the margin of victory for President Biden and Democratic control of the Senate. Republicans will benefit with states carried by Trump, picking up a net of five or six … [Read more...] about ‘Purple America’ will set political direction in 2022
Joe Biden must curb the executive action and do more with Congress
President Biden has signed more than two dozen executive orders over his first few weeks in office. Many have simply been the reversal of executive orders from the former administration, such as ending the travel ban from Muslim majority countries. Others, such as the reaffirmation of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, have reinstated executive orders that were signed by Barack Obama and then rescinded by Donald Trump.Republicans have criticized Biden for breaking his promise of unity, while Democrats have lauded the actions. But not long ago Democrats called out Trump and Republicans praised him for the reversal of executive orders from Obama. Gridlock in the legislature fuels this cycle where the president, in the face of a divided Congress, uses executive orders as a means of governing. With Democrats in narrow control of the Senate, the party has a duty to break this precedent and work on governing with fewer executive orders and more bipartisan legislation.Executive orders … [Read more...] about Joe Biden must curb the executive action and do more with Congress
