811 new cases, 766 recoveries recorded

The district recorded 811 new COVID-19 cases and 766 recoveries on Wednesday. Testing has crossed 11,000 samples with 11,356 swabs being sent. Thrikkakara recorded 27 new cases, Thripunithura 22, and Vazhakulam 20. Two health workers have been infected. The district’s active case load is at 10,291. A total of 8,177 people are recovering at home. Vaccination COVID-19 vaccination for frontline workers will begin on Thursday. A total of 16,053 frontline workers have registered to take the shot so far. Of them, 10,250 are from the police force, 2,385 are local body officials, 1,468 are officials from the revenue department and 1,948 are Union government officials working in the district. The first dose of vaccination for registered frontline workers is expected to be completed by February 15. It will be administered at 28 government and 40 private centres. Italy reports daily record of 39,811 new COVID-19 cases, deaths decline

MILAN: Italy has registered 39,811 new COVID-19 infections over the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Saturday (Nov 7), the country's highest ever daily tally and up from 37,809 on Friday. The ministry also reported 425 COVID-19 related deaths, down from 446 the day before. A total of 41,063 people have now died because of COVID-19 in Italy, which has registered about  902,490 coronavirus infections since the start of its outbreak. The northern region of Lombardy, centred on Italy's business capital Milan, remained the hardest hit area, reporting 11,489 new cases on Saturday against 9,934 on Friday. The neighbouring Piedmont region was the second-worst affected, chalking up 4,437 cases versus 4,878 the day before. Vaccination of frontline workers from February 8

The State will take up the first round of COVID-19 vaccination for frontline workers for three days from February 8. A targeted 2,74,374 frontline workers from the departments of Home, Urban Development, RDPR and Revenue are scheduled to be covered during these three days.In a circular issued on Saturday, Jawaid Akhtar, Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) has directed all health officials in the districts and BBMP to set up more vaccine session sites and schedule more number of beneficiaries for each session site. This is to ensure that all are covered during these three days.Health officials said the State has adequate number of vaccine doses available to cover both healthcare and frontline workers. Rents went flat, but Denver-metro apartment market held its ground in 2020

The pandemic struck metro Denver’s apartment market with gale-force winds last year, flattening rent gains but not causing a surge in vacancies or leaving large numbers of tenants and landlords exposed to the elements. “In terms of rent growth, 2020 was the slowest in 12 years,” said Mark Williams, executive vice president of Apartment Association of Metro Denver, during a news call Wednesday to discuss the findings of the quarterly Denver Metro Area Apartment Vacancy and Rent Survey. Metro Denver’s average apartment rent rose 0.5% to $1,510 a month in the fourth quarter, up from $1,503 a year earlier. Median rents slipped a little, coming in at $1,449 versus $1,457 in late 2019. Those eligible for the vaccine at this time can register to receive it by booking an appointment at the H-E-B website.Those who don't have access to a computer can call 1-800-811-8620 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time to schedule an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Walk-in vaccination services are not available."​​Texans in phase 1a and phase 1b are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Due to a limited supply of vaccines, appointments may fill up quickly.
