Vietnamese ambassador to Andorra Duong Chi Dung has presented his credentials to Co-Prince of Andorra Joan Enric Vives Sicilia. Ambassador Dung expressed his pleasure at the development in relations between the two countries. He said he hopes that Vietnam and Andorra will seek opportunities for bilateral cooperation in culture, tourism and investment within the Francophone countries as well as coordinating at multi-lateral forums. He conveyed best wishes from the Vietnamese State President Truong Tan Sang to the Co-Prince and the Andorran people. The Co-Prince said he supports the expansion of bilateral ties and agreed that the two states should exchange visits to promote mutual understanding. Vietnam wants to step up cooperation with the principality of Andorra, Ambassador to France, and Andorra, Portugal, Monaco and the Central African Republic Nguyen Ngoc Son has said. He presented his credentials to Co-Prince, Archbishop Joan-Enric Vivesi Sicilia in the capital city of Andorra la Vella on May 21. The Ambassador briefed the host of Vietnam’s socio-economic progress in recent years and bilateral relations between the two sides. He thanked the Andorran Government for supporting Vietnam at multilateral forums of the United Nations and the International Organisation of La Francophonie. The Co-Prince passed his greetings to Vietnamese high-ranking leaders and praised Vietnam’s socio-economic, political achievements in the past 40 years since its reunification. Andorra, one of the smallest nations in Europe, is interested in boosting relations with all countries across the globe, including Vietnam. Co-prince of Andorra and President of France Francois Hollande made the statement at a reception in Paris on October 19 for Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son who presented credentials to him. Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Son said the relationship between Vietnam and Andorra has developed strongly over the years and hoped the ties would expand in the future. Earlier, on May 21, the Vietnamese diplomat handed over his credentials to Andora’s other Co-prince, Bishop of Urgell Joan-Enric Vives Sicilia.
