Why Mac. Find A PC That Fits. Two very different product lines. Two very different demographics. Two appreciably very different experiences. It is often assumed that most buyers know what they want when searching for a new computing device. And they know which camp they are in—Windows or Mac. Yet, things aren’t as simple, and as someone who often has to answer the queries of friends and relatives about which “computer” they should buy, it is safe to say that no such preset clarity is on display. At all. Which makes it even more important for Apple and Microsoft to pitch their platforms and machines, just right. Particularly if both tech giants want to convince the large demographic of the as-yet-undecided potential buyers to become their customers and be part of the fold of apps and services that come with it. Apple has the largest as yet line-up of MacBook … [Read more...] about Microsoft Tried To Sell Me A PC And Apple Tried To Sell Me A Mac, And The Pitches Are Very Different

SPECULATION about Apple's upcoming iPhone 13 series is ongoing but some fans are still reeling from the loss of an old classic. Apple stopped selling and making its iPhone 11 Pro models last year despite them being popular and they're vanishing from stores. Why did Apple stop selling the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max? Experts speculated that discontinuing the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max meant that Apple could simplify its supply chain. The more phones Apple makes, the more complex the manufacturing process is. Simplifying this would help cut down on costs. Another reason could be that Apple's iPhone 12 series contains four different iPhone models. Having the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max on the Apple website, which some people said are similar to the 12, could have negatively affected iPhone 12 sales. The most expensive phone the Apple website currently offers is the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The cheapest on the Apple website is the iPhone SE. The iPhone XR and … [Read more...] about Beloved iPhone model quietly killed off by Apple and now VANISHED from store
The iPhone 12 lineup has generated impressive sales for Apple ( NASDAQ:AAPL ) , and the company is expected to raise production significantly in 2021 to meet the strong demand for its 5G-enabled offerings. That's not surprising, as Apple had a huge installed base of users ready to upgrade to 5G-capable smartphones -- and the company gave them a great reason to make the jump with the well-priced iPhone 12 lineup. Doug Guthrie spent 1994 riding a single-speed bicycle between factories in Shanghai for a dissertation on Chinese industry. Within years, he was one of America’s leading experts on China’s turn toward capitalism and was helping companies venture East. Two decades later, in 2014, Apple hired him to help navigate perhaps its most important market. By then, he was worried about China’s new direction. China’s new leader, Xi Jinping, was leaning on Western companies to strengthen his grip on the country. Mr. Guthrie realized that few companies were bigger targets, or more vulnerable, than Apple. It assembled nearly every Apple device in China and had made the region its No. 2 sales market. So Mr. Guthrie began touring the company with a slide show and lecture to ring the alarm. Apple, he said, had no Plan B. “I was going around to business leaders, and I’m like: ‘Do you guys understand who Xi Jinping is? Are you listening to what’s going on here?’” Mr. Guthrie said in an … [Read more...] about He Warned Apple About the Risks in China. Then They Became Reality.
