HCM City — Life insurance firm Manulife Viet Nam on Wednesday unveiled its business plan focusing on the south-eastern region. With a population of 2.4 million people and an increase of 13.5 per cent in GDP in 2010 against 2009 – double the GDP growth rate of the whole country in 2010 – Dong Nai was one of the most promising markets for Manulife, after HCM City and Ha Noi, the company said. Being the first 100 per cent foreign-owned life insurance company licensed in Viet Nam in 1999, the company was one of the top three life insurance companies in the country with more than 9,000 agencies nation-wide, the company said. Dai-ichi Life wins Asia CSR Award again
HCM City (Biz Hub) - The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company of Viet Nam won the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the Asia Insurance Industry Awards 2015, organised by Asia Insurance Review Magazine. Dai-ichi Life has been honoured for its significant community project, called "Million bricks for a happy life," that involves the construction of 10 bridges in the rural areas of Viet Nam for the safety and travel convenience of the local people. NCB appoints new General Director Following approval from the State Bank of Vietnam, Mr. Dao Trong Khanh has been officially appointed to the position of General Director of National Citizen Bank (NCB). Mr. Khanh has a Masters of Financial Economics from the National University of Singapore and has worked at banks such as Citigroup, Caylon Bank, and Mizuho Bank. He has also held the positions of General Director and member of the Board of Directors at TP Bank, and was Vice Chairman of the Board at Maritime Bank. Ms. Tran Hai Anh will step down as General Director but continue to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Board. According to Ms. Anh, NCB has quickly built up a solid technology platform and operates under international standards and practices. “We believe NCB will develop quickly and firmly under the management of Mr. Khanh,” she added.
