7-year-old Hoang Do Dong Anh has suffered from cerebral palsy since birth. Vu Thi De, Anh's grandmother said they couldn't afford to bring him to the hospital for over six months. However, as Anh's health has worsened with high fever and coughs in the past months, De had to use all the money they had left to bring him to the hospital. Anh's mother, Do Thi Kim Dinh, got married and gave birth to two sons. But her eldest child often has seizures while Anh has cerebral palsy. In late 2019, they divorced and Anh's mother returned to her parents' house with both of her sons. In order to support the family, she went to the city to find work.
