A seminar highlighted brand evaluation which is now a top concern of many Vietnamese businesses in the context of seeing trend towards M&A activity. — Photo Quynh Hoa HCM CITY (Biz Hub) – Brand evaluation is now a top concern of many Vietnamese businesses, especially as more merger and acquisitions (M&A) occur, Vu Thu Hang, deputy director of HCM Ctiy-based Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch, said at a seminar held in HCM City on November 26. Hang said analyzing challenges and opportunities would help businesses assess their brand value in M&A deals and reduce pressure from competitors. Richard Moore, chairman and general director of Richard Moore Associates (RMA), said that local companies' brand value could deteriorate if the firms did not evaluate the effectiveness of their brands. Vietnam’s footwear grasps opportunity to increase exports

(VOVworld) –Vietnam is finalizing the last negotiations with the US to join the Trans-Pacific partnership agreement and is close to signing a Free Trade Agreement with the EU. Meeting requirements for these deals will offer both challenges and opportunities for Vietnam, especially in the footwear sector, to increase exports. By implementing commitments set by the TPP and FTAs, Vietnamese tannery firms will have opportunities to enjoy a preferential tariff reduced from 14.3% to 0%. This is important for Vietnam’s leather and footwear industry to improve production efficiency and competitiveness, and access advanced technologies and global major brands.
