Fast And Furious 9 Delayed A Month, Minions Movie Pushed Back A Year

Fast & the Furious 9--or F9: The Fast Saga according to Universal--has been delayed again. The film was supposed to release on May 28, but it will now arrive in theaters on June 25, according to The Wrap . F9: The Fast Saga was originally coming to theaters on May 22, 2020. Additionally, Minions: The Rise of Gru has been pushed back a full year from July 2, 2021 to July 1, 2022. This will mean the Minions sequel will have been pushed back two years from its original release date, which was July 3, 2020. Because of the COVID the current pandemic, movie theaters are slow to reopen--because it's all based on state-by-state restrictions--so getting people into theaters is a little tough right now. Vaccines are rolling out across the nation, but it's not safe to go back to the theaters just yet. Black Adam adds Ramy actor Mo Amer to the Dwayne Johnson-led DC movie

Reminders that the Black Adam movie is finally happening seem to be coming daily. The most recent update: the Dwayne Johnson-led DC movie has added stand-up comedian Mo Amer. Amer is the second Arab actor to join the cast. Tunisian-Dutch Aladdin star Marwan Kenzari was confirmed to have joined back in February. The rest of the star-studded cast includes Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, with James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui. Amer, also a stand-up comedian, is best known as Ramy Youssef’s cousin Mo in the award-winning Hulu sitcom Ramy. He also has a Netflix comedy special Mo Amer: The Vagabond and makes up one-third of the comedy troupe Allah Made Me Funny. He is set to star in the upcoming comedy film Americanish. Los Angeles’ Beloved ArcLight Cinemas and Pacific Theatres Will Close Permanently

Clendenin/Los Angeles Times via Getty Images There’s a light at the end of the coronavirus pandemic tunnel, illuminated by the continual rollout of COVID-19 vaccines, but sadly there’s still no telling which arts facilities will go dark after more than a year without audiences. On Monday, parent company Decurion announced all Pacific Theatres and ArcLight Cinemas, which are operated by Pacific, will close permanently, including ArcLight Hollywood’s iconic Cinerama Dome.
