For example, only 18 of nearly 600 rice processing businesses have annual capacity of more than 100,000 tonnes and 558 are located in provinces in the Mekong Delta; only 3.1 percent of tea processing businesses operate on a large scale and have daily capacity of more than 100 tonnes; while the majority of 625 seafood processing businesses are small-scaled. The Hanoitimes - The export of agro-forestry and fisheries products has gradually recovered with Jan-July turnover of 15.9 billion USD, a 12.4 percent year-on-year increase. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), brighter forecast for the global economy in the third quarter is a good sign for Vietnamese agro-forestry and fishery products. Total revenue of this year expected to reach 26.5 billion USD. Except for rice and rubber, most export staples have seen rises in both volume and value. Agriculture products continued to be major earners, bringing home 8.9 billion USD. In the 7-month period, the country shipped abroad 1.2 million tonnes of coffee, earning 2.5 billion USD, up 31.6 percent and 25.4 percent, respectively, over the same period last year.
