As part of the Vietnam Year in France, the program will feature 36 movies and documentaries, with 31 of them directed by 24 locals. A Vietnamese movie about childd will be distributed abroad under deal signed between HCM City-based Galaxy Studio and Fortissimo Films, an Amsterdam- and Hong Kong-based organisation involved in film, televisihooon and videos sales and distribution. Spain funds 400,000 Euros to strengthen capacity of Vietnam’s tourism industry
Viet Nam and Spain on November 29 inked an ODA project supporting the implementation of Vietnam tourism development strategy period 2011 – 2020, vision to 2030. The signing ceremony was held at the head office of the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) with the attendance of leaders of MoCST, VNAT and Spanish Embassy in Viet Nam, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). The 400,000-Euro ODA project, funded by the Spanish Government through AECID, will be implemented in the period 2011 – 2012 in provinces of Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Ha Giang... The project aims to highlight the role of tourism at both central and local levels; contribute to diversification of tourism products towards sustainability, preservation and upholding unique characteristics of Vietnamese culture and nature. Planning a cycling trip in these remote areas of Vietnam as a solo traveller might not be the wisest decision, primarily due to the need for special permits in the less well-discovered areas, but I knew I could do without, having lived for nearly 8 years in Vietnam. I decided to initiate my 18 year-old son, Sacha, to the art of cycling his first bicycle trip ever. Our first challenge was to put the bikes on the train from Hanoi to Lao Cai and then bike 40 kilometres uphill to Sapa. There are many trains from Hanoi to Lao Cai. However, almost all sleeper seats are controlled by travel agents. It is impossible to buy sleeper tickets. Some seat tickets or a few second class sleepers may be available at the train station without pre-booking. Ask the travel agents for the latest departure at 9.45pm, the SP3. The soft-bed cabins are cheaper at around VND330,000 and you can put the bikes on the train for VND80,000.
