Home Health Nutrition Nutrition oi-Amritha K By Amritha K on April 30, 2019 Since ages, wine has been used not only for recreational purposes but also for various health conditions. Made from fermented grape juice, the flavourful drink is one of the best ways to incorporate fun and health. Moderate consumption of wine can be attributed to long life, protection against cancer and improved mental health [1] . One such benefit of drinking wine can be attributed to the risky lifestyle of French people which in normal cases can result in death from coronary heart disease. However, the common use of wine during meals result in the country having fewer cases of heart disease-related deaths [2] . The amazing benefits of wine are not something found by the modern world because research conducted at the Harvard University revealed that a jar in the tomb of King Scorpion I, dating back to 3150 BC was found with traces of wine along with some … [Read more...] about White Wine Vs Red Wine: Which Is Healthier?

Mass COVID Vaccination Site Opens At DoubleTree Hotel In Danvers
DANVERS (CBS) – The state’s fifth mass vaccination site — and its first north of Boston — opened Wednesday at the DoubleTree hotel in Danvers, and 84-year-old Anita Dion was relieved to get an appointment. “I don’t want to go to the hospital; I don’t want to get sick. This is certainly the best option,” said Dion. The first mass COVID-19 vaccination site north of Boston opened Wednesday at the DoubleTree hotel in Danvers. ‘Racial Double Standard’: Ministers, Officers Call On Walsh To Reinstate New Police Commissioner
BOSTON (CBS) – There were powerful charges of racism from ministers and minority officers in Boston who gathered to support Dennis White , the city’s newly appointed police commissioner suddenly placed on leave two days after being sworn in. “There is a racial double standard,” said Rev. Eugene Rivers with the Black Ministerial Alliance. Mayor Marty Walsh says he made the move after White was accused of domestic abuse in a 1999 divorce case, saying he didn’t know about the allegations. There were never any charges, and the officers with the Massachusetts Association of Minority Law Enforcement Officers say White rose through the ranks of the department because he earned it. Massachusetts Creates Vaxfinder, A New Website To Help People Book COVID Vaccine Appointments
BOSTON (CBS) – There’s still the state’s main website to land a COVID vaccine appointment. But now, a new tool called Vaxfinder has been added. The state is hoping Vaxfinder does simplify the process by showing appointments and availability in one location. Users can go to vaxfinder.mass.gov , enter a zip code or town in a search box, which will bring them to a list of vaccination sites in that area. RELATED: Masks, Social Distancing Among CDC Guidelines For Reopening Schools They can also choose to only show sites that have available appointments, but they still have to be booked on individual portals like Fenway Park. Unfortunately, for 78-year-old Chatham resident Vera Hand, it is still not working because there were no appointments available on the Cape, which has been a source of frustration in that area. Her only option has been the 211 call center, which found a slot at Fenway Park. Texas deep freeze leaves millions without power, 21 dead
LUBBOCK, Texas -- A historic winter storm has killed at least 21 people, left millions of Texans without power and spun killer tornadoes into the U.S. Southeast on Tuesday. The brutal cold has engulfed vast swaths of the United States, shuttering COVID-19 inoculation centers and hindering vaccine supplies. It is not expected to relent until the weekend. Officials in Texas drew criticism as the state energy grid repeatedly failed, forcing rolling blackouts. Freezing weather stilled giant wind turbines that dot the West Texas landscape, making it impossible for energy companies to meet escalating demand. University student Corbin Antu found a way to snowboard in the flat West Texas plains town of Lubbock. He clung to a tow rope as friends in a pickup truck pulled him up and down silent white streets. “This is my first time snowboarding out in Lubbock. Trust me, it’s not disappointing,” Antu said. “There is so much powder out on the ground it feels like it’s Colorado almost.” … [Read more...] about Texas deep freeze leaves millions without power, 21 dead
