VN welcomes more investment in infrastructure development
The Deputy PM hailed VINCI’s interests and desires to expand cooperation in investment and exploitation in highways in Viet Nam. Viet Nam’s tasks till 2020 are to connect North-South highways and develop highways in its regions, said Deputy PM Dung, adding that it will be an opportunity for foreign investors to Viet Nam to invest in infrastructure. He proposed VINCI leaders to work with Vietnamese ministries, agencies and partners to launch cooperative initiatives. Speaking at the reception, Mr. Fadi Selwan affirmed that VINCI expects to cooperate with the Vietnamese Government and partners in highway development as well as exchange experience and transfer technology to promote highways in Viet Nam. Philippines plans to accelerate investment in infrastructure and human capital
(CPV) - Robust growth is set to continue in the Philippines in 2016 and 2017 on the back of strong investment, private consumption, and the government plan to accelerate investment in infrastructure and human capital, says a new ADB study. In an update of its flagship annual economic publication, Asian Development Outlook 2016, ADB now forecasts 2016 gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 6.4%, up from its March projection of 6%. For 2017, growth is seen dipping back slightly to 6.2%, but is still above the previous forecast of 6.1%. Dong Thap Calling for Investment in Infrastructure of 7 New IPs In recent years, though fraught with challenges, Dong Thap province’s industrial parks (IPs) and economic zones (EZs) have been still operating effectively, contributing greatly to local socio-economic development. Currently, Dong Thap has received approval from the Prime Minister to expand and establish 7 new IPs and is calling for investment in infrastructure for those IPs. Currently Dong Thap province has 3 IPs in operation, attracting 52 investment projects with total registered capital of VND4,032 billion. The area of leased land is relatively large, the average occupancy rate of 3IPs is 55 percent (Sadec IP has an occupancy rate of about 87 percent).
