NEW DELHI: In the first five days of this placement season, students at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi receive over 700 offers (with some students even receiving multiple offers). Including the 186 pre-placement offers (PPOs), the total number of job offers to IIT Delhi students stand over 750. The students selected are from undergraduate, post graduate and PhD programmes. The domestic offers so far received are 767 in addition to 15 international offers. “IIT Delhi is becoming a preferred destination for recruiters. Overall, we are happy with the placement offers our students are receiving,” V Ramgopal Rao, director, IIT Delhi said. The U.S. economy added 266,000 jobs for the month and the unemployment rate fell to 3.5 percent, matching the lowest level in 50 years.Economists had expected the economy to add 187,000 jobs and for unemployment to remain unchanged at 3.6 percent, according to Econoday.
