Vietnam-China negotiation on less sensitive marine areas

Both sides scrutinized the implementation of projects signed during the 11th negotiation round and discussed new collaboration projects. They highly appreciated the successful implementation of a project that studied and compared Holocene sediments in the Red River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta, as well as the positive outcomes of projects on cooperation in releasing fry and protecting aquatic resources in the Gulf of Tonkin, and in studying the management of the sea and island environment in the Gulf of Tonkin. The two sides consented to discuss measures to speed up the signing of an agreement on search and rescue cooperation in the waters of Vietnam and China, carry out collaboration contents related to marine search and rescue as well as those regarding the signing of an agreement on the establishment of a hotline for offshore fishing emergencies. Hanoi (VNA) – The 12th round of negotiations of the Vietnam-China working group on partnership in less sensitive maritime fields took place in Zhuhai of Guangdong, China on December 5-6. In a straightforward and friendly manner, the two sides reviewed the implementation of projects signed during the 11th negotiation round and discussed new collaboration projects. They spoke highly of the successful implementation of a project that studied and compared Holocene sediments in the Red River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta, as well as the positive results of projects on cooperation in releasing fry and protecting aquatic resources in the Gulf of Tonkin, and in studying the management of the sea and island environment in the Gulf of Tonkin. (Photo: VNA)   Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s trip to China to attend the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) will help enhance Vietnam-China relations and drive economic and trade ties between the two countries forward, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung has said. He made the statement following the PM’s tour from November 4-5 for one of China’s most important diplomatic events in 2018, through which the country wants to extend its message of open markets to the world. Vietnam, China discuss less sensitive maritime areas

Vietnamese and Chinese delegates have wrapped up the eighth round of negotiations on maritime cooperation in less sensitive fields in Qingdao, a city in China’s eastern province of Shandong, according to a Vietnamese government statement released on Saturday. The two countries established the working groups as part of their joint efforts to realize the agreement on the basic principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues signed in October 2011. The two sides will continue to implement the two agreements inked during the previous rounds, including: a study and comparison of the Holocene sedimentary architecture of Vietnam’s Red River Basin and China's Yangtze River Basin; and a study on maritime and island management in the Gulf of Tonkin. President Truong Tan Sang holds talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping
