LOS ANGELES: Nearly all social gatherings of individuals from more than a single household will be banned in Los Angeles County for at least three weeks starting Monday under new restrictions local health officials unveiled on Friday (Nov 27), citing a continued surge in COVID-19 infections. The public health order specifically exempts religious services and protests under constitutionally protected rights in an apparent nod to Wednesday's US Supreme Court decision striking down a New York state order that had restricted the size of religious gatherings. The Los Angeles County measures, affecting some 20 million people living in and around the nation's second-largest city, go beyond a curfew imposed last week by California Governor Gavin Newsom barring social gatherings and other non-essential activities across most of the state between 10pm and 5am. Bobby Brown Jr, the son of singer Bobby Brown, was found dead at a Los Angeles home on Wednesday (Nov 19). He was 28. Los Angeles Police spokesman Officer Jeff Lee said officers were responding to a medical emergency when they found Brown Jr's body around 1.50pm at a home in Encino, The Los Angeles Times reported. Brown Jr was pronounced dead at the scene. Lee said police believe no foul play was involved and additional details on the death weren't immediately released. Brown Jr was the son of Bobby Brown and Kim Ward. His son's death is the latest in a string of misfortune for Bobby Brown. In 2012, his ex-wife, legendary singer Whitney Houston, was found dead after drowning in a Beverly Hills hotel room bathtub. Coroner’s officials ruled Houston’s death accidental and said heart disease and cocaine were contributing factors. The Los Angeles Police Department released a description Thursday night of the suspects that allegedly shot Lady Gaga’s dog walker while he was walking her dogs. “Suspect-1 is described as a male black, 20-25 years of age, blond dreadlocks, wearing a black hoodie, and armed with a semi-automatic handgun,” the press release said. “Suspect-2 is further described as a male black, 20-25 years of age, wearing dark clothing,” the release continued.
