By dismissing hundreds of loyal engineers who refused to sign inferior contracts, British Gas is trashing its own reputation. This fire-and-rehire tactic, to impose pay cuts and longer hours, is a national disgrace that should be outlawed immediately. But the privatised energy supplier is, unfortunately, not alone in exploiting weak laws that leave British workers vulnerable. British Gas owner Centrica risks a backlash from customers angered by the mistreatment of skilled workers who fix problems in their essential home devices and keep them safe. In Britain, workers have fewer legal rights than employees in other major nations. Citroen C5 X breaks cover as brand’s flagship
NEW DELHI: French automaker Citroën , which recently launched the C5 Aircross in India, has taken the wraps off of its new flagship, the C5 X . The vehicle is based on the CXperience Concept which was unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show . The design language features what Citroën calls a ‘fastback bodystyle’ which takes design cues from saloons and estate cars while adding a dash of SUV styling as well. It is also shaped keeping in mind better aerodynamics. The C5 X’s dimensions have it at 4,805 mm long. 1,865 mm wide 1,485 mm tall and sits on 19" Tall & Narrow tyres. It features V-shaped LED lights both at the front and rear which makes the car look unmistakably Citroën. Digital Extremes has released an update for Warframe that optimizes the free-to-play game on Xbox Series X|S, following in the footsteps of the PS5's similar update.The optimized version provides a substantial visual boost, including 4K resolution on Xbox Series X, and the release comes the same day the game's Call of the Tempestarii content update. On Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, Warframe runs at 60fps, with 4K and 1080p on the two consoles, respectively. The new rendering engine also allows for volumetric shadows and dynamic lighting, and there is also a new sound system to add more depth. Sony invests another $200M into Epic’s ‘vision for the metaverse’
Unreal Engine and Fortnite maker Epic Games is valued at $28.7 billion. That's a lot of money for, say, me, but compared to Apple it's not that much money. Added up, all of the shares of Apple's stock are currently worth over $2 trillion. There's room for Epic to grow, in other words, and the company (which isn't publicly traded like Apple) just received another $1 billion in funds to help with that growth. $200 million of that total came from Sony, which previously invested $250 million into Epic in July of last year. Epic CEO Tim Sweeney remains the controlling Epic Games shareholder following this investment. The $1 billion will be used in Epic's work "building connected social experiences in Fortnite, Rocket League and Fall Guys, while empowering game developers and creators with Unreal Engine, Epic Online Services and the Epic Games Store," says Sweeney.
