Jo Ha Kyu film and photo exhibition in Hanoi By Thu Ha in Hanoi The Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam will open a film and photography exhibition ‘Jo Ha Kyu’ by Nguyen Trinh Thi and Jamie Maxtone-Graham in Hanoi from Wednesday based on the couple’s experiences of Tokyo. Jo Ha Kyu is an essential concept of the narrative structure in all traditional Japanese temporal arts. Zeami, founder of Noh drama, considers the structure as a small stream expanding into a river which eventually becomes a waterfall that crashes into a still pond; Jo Ha Kyu encapsulates the idea, in simplest terms, of a beginning, middle and end. Tokyo has been inspiring a plethora of foreign artists to create works based on their experiences in this unique city. Central province to hold traditional crafts festival The Hue Traditional Crafts Festival will be held from April 27 to May 1 in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue to highlight traditional local crafts. Organisers said artisans from Ha Noi, Bac Ninh, Ha Giang, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Quang Nam, An Giang, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Duong would take part in the festival. They make items like garments, terracotta, porcelain, wooden decorative items, bamboo and rattan products, knits, and paper flowers. At the festival, visitors will be able to join in activities and street performances. After the enterprise was moved to the industrial zone in Vinh Phuc province, almost the entire factory here have been left fallow for many years. From 2012, some car repair and car wash shops opened in the first floor of the factory. Early in 2013, the activities at No.9 Tran Thanh Tong were really exciting. Five rows of workshops have been divided and repaired to become wedding photo studios, galleries, coffee shops, billiard and fashion stores.
