Shane Young is jumping straight back into the deep end as he looks to return to the winner's circle, but the UFC featherweight believes he's already passed his biggest test. Six months after he was knocked out by Ludovit Klein, Young (13-5) returns to the octagon at UFC 260 in Las Vegas next month against Venezuelan Omar Morales , who holds an impressive 10-1 record. LAS VEGAS: President Donald Trump will travel to California on Monday (Sep 14) to be briefed about its devastating wildfires while Democratic rival Joe Biden plans a speech on the matter from Delaware, bringing climate change to the forefront of the presidential campaign. Trump, a Republican who pulled the United States out of the Paris accord on global warming because he found it too costly, has expressed his view that poor forest management is partly to blame for the fires that are raging around the West Coast. Democrats have emphasised that climate change has played a role, and Biden is expected to emphasise that in his remarks. Sony announced Tuesday a new cloud-based gaming service at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Dubbed Playstation Now , the service will allow gamers to stream classic Playstation titles to a range of devices including PS4, PS3, PS Vita, smartphones, tablets, and supported Bravia TVs. “Playing your favorite PS3 game on your television will become a reality”, SCE chief Andrew House told audience members. At present, only the 2014 Bravia TVs launched in the US will be supported. The technology behind Sony's Playstation Now comes from cloud technology specialist Gaikai, which the company acquired in 2012 for $380 million. Gaikai's technology uses advanced servers and compression techniques to reduce the lag which is often observed when high-quality games are played over the Internet. While Sony promises low latency, it will be interesting to see how the service performs in the real world. LONDON: Britain's former undisputed world middleweight champion Alan Minter has died at the age of 69, the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) said on Thursday (Sep 10). British media reported he had been suffering from cancer. Minter was a bronze medallist at the 1972 Munich Olympics and took the professional world title in Las Vegas in 1980 after beating Italian-American Vito Antuofermo on a controversial split decision. He stopped the Italian in a rematch that same year in London but lost his title to "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler after three rounds at Wembley Arena three months later. DEATH VALLEY, California: The hottest air temperature recorded anywhere on the planet in at least at century, and possibly ever, was reached in Death Valley in California's Mojave Desert on Sunday afternoon where it soared to 54.4 degrees Celsius (130 degrees Fahrenheit). An automated observation system run by the US National Weather Service at Furnace Creek reported the record at 3.41pm local time. It was a dry heat: humidity fell to 7 per cent. But it felt "insanely hot" all the same, according to meteorologist Daniel Berc, who is based in the NWS Las Vegas bureau and forecast that the heat wave would continue all week. "It's literally like being in an oven," he said in a telephone interview. "Today is another day we could take another run at 130F." A temperature of 56.7 degrees Celsius  was recorded in Death Valley in July 1913.
