(VOVworld) - Chief Representative of the UN Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Vietnam Youssouf Abdel Jelil visited and presented gifts to Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin victims in Da Nang on Tuesday. President Truong Tan Sang presents gifts to Quang Nam residents
(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang visited residents of the resettlement area near the Tranh River Hydro Power Plant 2 in Bac Tra My District, Quang Nam province, and supervised the plant’s operation on Sunday. Sang asked local authorities to care for people’s lives and make them feel secure in their new homes. He proposed measures to boost household incomes such as exploring unused land, reclaiming cropland, and expanding cultivation and animal husbandry. The same day, Sang visited and offered gifts to flood-stricken residents in Dai Hung commune, Dai Loc district. During his trip to Quang Nam province, President Sang and the Viet Nam Red Cross Society presented 100 gifts and 170 cows to the poor. Bulgarian ambassador presents gifts to kindergarten children
Hanoi (VNA) - Bulgarian Ambassador to Vietnam Evgueni Stefanov Stoytchev presented gifts to children at the Vietnam-Bulgaria kindergarten in Hanoi on November 4. The gifts including learning tools, toys and clothes made in Bulgaria are expected to bring happiness for the youngsters, he said. Rector of the kindergarten Bui Thi Kim Xuan said she hopes the Ambassador and his spouse will visit the school more often to share Bulgaria’s language and unique cultures. Dak Lak presents gifts to AO/dioxin victims
The Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA)'s branch in Dak Lak has offered 100 gifts, each worth VND3 million to AO/dioxin victims. All gifts are sponsored by Thanh Nien (Youth) newspaper and RASS Group. The province currently has nearly 4,500 AO/dioxin victims. In response to commemorating the 50th anniversary of the day when Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin was first sprayed in Vietnam (August 10, 1961), the association has received assistance from 194 individuals and collectives who donated a total over VND1.6 billion. HCM City presents gifts for children
At the event, the children joined a painting contest, decorated pictures of yellow apricot blossom and watched cultural shows. Each child received a present worth VND250,000 and VND50,000 of lucky money. This was part of an annual social activity held nationwide to help disadvantaged children enjoy the Traditional Lunar New Year Festival.
