RB Leipzig 0-0 Hoffenheim , Red Bull Arena RB Leipzig's decision to not adequately replace Timo Werner last summer has cost them countless points. A season that should see them finish second could have been so much better . With at least one key player leaving and their coach being linked again with Bayern Munich, they may look back on this season as the one that got away. The void of quality in attack since Werner departed for Chelsea is the elephant in the room for Leipzig. Bayern have Robert Lewandowski, Wolfsburg have Wout Weghorst, Eintracht Frankfurt have Andre Silva and Borussia Dortmund have Erling Haaland. Leipzig have now failed to score in the last two home games, and therein lies the problem. Yussuf Poulsen is the best option at Julian Nagelsmann's disposal, but the closest the Dane got was a 96th minute header that was chalked off after a lengthy VAR consulation. Given how well Hoffenheim had defended, it would have been cruel to see them lose in such a … [Read more...] about Bundesliga: RB Leipzig miss chance to close gap on Bayern Munich
Taylor Jones says he'll never forget the November night when he had his first panic attack. Jones, 28, had just started his usual night shift as a patrol officer for the Broussard Police Department when his heart started racing and his palms grew sweaty. "Once I got on the road and started patrolling, I couldn't focus," Jones said. "I almost ran off the road and had to stop." Jones said he had received unwelcome, inappropriate texts and Snapchat messages from his police chief earlier that day. He would ultimately quit his job in March as a result of the alleged sexual harassment at the hands of Brannon Decou, who has served as the police chief of Broussard for 20 years. It's been almost five months since the night when Jones had a panic attack behind the wheel of his police unit. Jones said he's since shared evidence of the sexual harassment with his supervisor, the assistant police chief, the Broussard mayor and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, but nobody … [Read more...] about Broussard police chief faces allegations of sexual harassment by former officers
I. It’s 1995, and I’m in seventh-grade keyboarding class. The school computer lab has clunky greige Apple computers loaded with Mavis Beacon software. We dutifully practice placing our fingers on the “home row”: the left hand on ASDF , right on JKL; . We practice typing short words, then sentences, aiming for accuracy and speed while keeping those fingers on the home row. This goes on once a week for three months. The class is easy. I get a decent grade. Then we switch to Health class, which is much more exciting because it talks about s-e-x. Because it’s 1995, health class spends a lot of time teaching about contraceptive foam and the sponge. Neither the sponge nor the home row method will serve me in my adult life. II. It’s the week that vaccines become available to New Yorkers age 30+, and I’m venting to friends in a group chat that I haven’t been able to book an appointment online yet. “That’s because Katie is probably typing in that she lives in BROKOLYN NWE … [Read more...] about Why Am I Sp Bad At Typign?
(CNN) Lewis Hamilton celebrated his 99th Formula One pole position after seeing off Red Bull's Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen in qualifying for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola on Saturday. Mexican Perez, in only his second race for Red Bull, lines up alongside Mercedes' seven-time world champion for what will be his first front row start. Verstappen, fastest in final practice at the Italian circuit and chasing a hat-trick of poles, had to settle for third with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc a strong fourth on a home track for the revived Italian team. Hamilton did enough with his first flying lap of one minute 14.411 seconds, but Perez came close at the end with an effort only 0.035 slower. "I definitely didn't expect us to be ahead of two Red Bulls," said Hamilton, who won the season-opener in Bahrain last month after Verstappen started on pole.
