BORIS Johnson is facing Tory pressure to lift restrictions as Covid cases continue to plunge. Influential MPs and business chiefs have urged the PM to ease lockdown as he vowed to use "data not dates" to decide when it ends. Mr Johnson will be handed a dossier of data as early as tonight to help him decide the speed of his "Roadmap to Recovery" blueprint. The PM will use the numbers to shape his official plan to ease lockdown , to be published on Monday. It comes amid signs the vaccine may be helping to slash cases and deaths across the country. Yesterday, Mark Woolhouse, an Edinburgh University expert in infectious disease and a member of a member of the SPI-M scientific advisory group, told MPs: "If you're driven by the data and not by dates, right now, you should be looking at earlier unlocking." TORY PRESSURE Following his remarks to the Science and Technology Committee, Steve Baker, from the 70-strong Covid Recovery Group, pleaded with the PM to "open … [Read more...] about Boris Johnson faces Tory pressure to lift Covid measures after PM vows to use ‘data not dates’ to get UK out of lockdown

International Coalition Pressures Mark Zuckerberg to Drop Plans to Build Instagram for Kids
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly under pressure from an international coalition of 35 children’s and consumer groups to drop plans for a version of Instagram aimed towards children under 13. The New York Times reports that an international coalition of 35 children’s and consumer groups called on Facebook-owned Instagram this week to drop plans to develop a version of the app for children under 13. Instagram’s decision to develop a separate children’s app comes after receiving complaints for years from legislators and parents that the platform has been slow to deal with issues affecting underage users such as online grooming and bullying . In a letter to Mark Zuckerberg, the nonprofit groups warned that a children’s version of Instagram would not address the issues they have previously raised. The groups said that while 10 to 12-year-olds with Instagram accounts would be unlikely to switch to a “babyish version” of the app, it could attract even younger users … [Read more...] about International Coalition Pressures Mark Zuckerberg to Drop Plans to Build Instagram for Kids

But the capacity of a microwave and its size might not always match up so double check the external dimensions to make sure it will fit where you want it to. Remember, you also need to give microwaves room to “breath” as they have vents to release the heat produced during cooking. In terms of capacity, if you’re only planning to use it to reheat leftovers or to cook ready meals, … [Read more...] about Best cheap microwaves for every budget and how to choose the right one
Weather forecast updates – London to get SEVEN-DAY mini-heatwave with high temperatures and no rain, Met Office says
IT could be the hottest summer in a decade as a 32C blast is set to hit the country within weeks, say forecasters. La Nina, a climate pattern, will play a large part in the spike in warm weather. Jim Dale, meteorologist for British Weather Services, said: “There will definitely be some spikes of heat as we go into summer when I expect to see temperatures in the high 20Cs or even the low 30Cs. “This is largely because of a balancing effect which, after the colder period of weather over the past couple of months, dominated by a northerly airflow, should revert and come from a more southerly direction. “This will bring more in the way of hotter weather as we go through the end of spring and into summer. “This summer could be up there with the warmer ones from the past ten years, it is more likely to turn out one of the warmer ones that to be cooler.” Read all the latest weather news and updates in our live blog below...
