Prince Andrew told friends he ‘regretted’ not ex-pressing sympathy for Jeffrey Epstein’s victims in his disastrous TV interview. The Duke of York insisted he had ‘great sympathy’ for anyone abused by his late paedophile friend, and had been in the dark about the ‘extent of his wrongdoing’. It came amid a widespread backlash at Andrew’s apparent lack of remorse in the ‘make or break’ interview on BBC’s Newsnight programme, which backfired spectacularly and led Epstein’s victims – who include Virginia Roberts – to demand a personal apology from the duke for his appalling misjudgment. Sympathy for loss of dog
By Allison Schonter - July 11, 2019 05:14 pm EDT Share 0 Comments 0 Stewart, the corgi who portrayed Captain Holt’s dog Cheddar on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, has died at the age of 13. On Monday, Stewart’s owner took to Instagram to sadly announce that the famous pooch had “peacefully” passed away after a final day filled with his favorite foods and activities. “We went to the beach (his favorite place) where he frolicked in the surf and then enjoyed a picnic lunch of In-N-Out burgers,” the post reads. “We relaxed in the sun and just enjoyed each other’s company.” “Our veterinarian met us there later and Stewart went to sleep peacefully in my arms while listening to the sounds of the ocean,” the post, shared alongside a photo of the canine sitting in a wagon, continued. “He was a one in a million kind of dog, he was my supaah staah.” View this post on … [Read more...] about ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Dog Who Played Cheddar Has Died
It's cold, somewhere near -25C, but with the wind it feels more like -35C. My eyes keep tearing up, creating small rivers of saline that run down my cheeks and freeze solid; tiny icicles form on my eyelashes, threatening to weld my contact lenses to my corneas. This is winter in the Duchesnay region of Quebec, Canada's largest province, and I am driving a team of sled dogs across a landscape locked in a deep freeze. "These are perfect conditions for the dogs," says Nicolas Cliché-Plourde, musher, guide and co-owner of Aventure Inukshuk, based half an hour from Quebec City. "When the temperature drops below -25C, they run at their best; they are stronger and have more stamina." Nicolas is a burly, slightly serious fellow, but projects a quiet confidence. He knows all 28 of his dogs by name and temperament, and picks the best 14 from among the barking and howling chaos of the kennel. Even though he is only 25, he has a lifetime of experience among the province's forests, lakes and … [Read more...] about Husky sledding in Canada: one man and his dogs
MATT Lucas has spoken of his heartbreak as he announced the death of his beloved dog Hob. The 45-year-old Little Britain star shared a picture of the Labrador on Instagram tonight along with an emotional tribute. He typed: "On Friday my dog Hob died. Hob could bark for England. Now the house is silent. Hob was one of the greatest friends I’ve ever had. Thank you Hobby. I love you xxx." The comedian's followers were quick to send their condolences, with Sarah Millican writing: "Oh so sorry to hear this, Matt. Lots of love to you. X" While Courtney Act posted: "So sorry to hear that! Sending much love." Just last month Matt paid an even more heartbreaking tribute to ex-husband Kevin McGee on the ten year anniversary of his suicide. The pair married in December 2006, but by 2008 they were divorced. Kevin, then aged 32, was found dead at his Edinburgh flat in October 2009 after taking his own life. His apparent suicide note on Facebook read: "Kevin McGee thinks that death is much … [Read more...] about Matt Lucas heartbroken at death of beloved dog as he pays tribute to ‘greatest friend I’ve ever had’
Source: Aaron Amat/123RF A headline in the New York Daily News last year proclaimed, “All Dogs, and Cats, and Pigs, and Goats, and Cockroaches Go to Heaven: So Says Pope Francis.” The article was written by Bruce Friedrich, director of policy for the Farm Sanctuary, an animal protection organization. The article was based on a June 18, 2015 papal encyclical written by Pope Francis. The encyclical is open to interpretation, and there is disagreement among Catholics about whether the Pope really meant to open the Pearly Gates to any non-human species, let alone cockroaches. However, the question of whether animals have an afterlife has long been on the minds of pet owners who want to know if they will get to play with their favorite dog in heaven as well as individuals concerned with the moral implications of dining on creatures with souls. While the literal existence of animal afterlife does not fall within the realm of psychology, the question of … [Read more...] about What Kinds Of People Believe Animals Go To Heaven?
