Venezuela’s Maduro expels US diplomats, rejects sanctions

Viet Nam News CARACAS — Venezuela ordered the expulsion of the top two US diplomats in the country Tuesday, charging it was the victim of a "political and financial lynching" after Washington tightened sanctions over Nicolas Maduro’s re-election. Maduro announced the expulsions in a televised speech after being officially proclaimed the winner of Sunday’s election in the South American nation mired in an acute economic. The Venezuelan president declared US charge d’affaires Todd Robinson and deputy head of mission Brian Naranjo "personae non gratae." "They must leave the country in 48 hours in protest and in defense of the dignity of the Venezuelan homeland... Enough of conspiracies!" he said. US rejects allegation of being behind Venezuela coup

(VOVworld) – The United States has rejected allegations that its envoy aided coup plots against the Venezuelan government. Vietnam, Venezuela Promoting Agricultural Cooperation Recently, at the invitation of Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro paid an official visit to Vietnam. On this occasion, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Venezuela in Vietnam, organised a seminar in Hanoi to discuss agricultural cooperation. According to Dr Vu Tien Loc, VCCI President, Vietnam and Venezuela have long and friendly relations. In 2014, the two countries celebrated 25 years of diplomatic relations and recognised historic milestones and great achievements from over two decades of friendship. The leftist governments of Ecuador and Bolivia also recalled their diplomats from Brasilia, with Ecuadoran President Rafael Correa calling the senate vote impeaching Rousseff "an apology for abuse and treason." The Venezuela-led leftist ALBA bloc, which includes Cuba and Nicaragua, condemned what they said was a "parliamentary coup" in Brazil.
