Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung presented the Order of Independence, first class, to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) for the second time while attending a ceremony to mark the agency’s 70th founding anniversary on September 15. Seventy years ago today, the VNA published the full text of the Declaration of Independence in Vietnamese, English and French to the world, marking its birth. Since then, its staff have overcome numerous difficulties and challenges to fulfil their tasks, contributing importantly to the country’s nation-building and safeguarding cause. Addressing the event, PM Nguyen Tan Dung conveyed his best wishes to the VNA staff, affirming that in the two resistance wars against French and American forces, the VNA served as an important news channel helping strengthen public will and determination to drive aggressors away and regain national independence. Cuban film crew visit Vietnam News Agency
Deputy Director General of Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Le Duy Truyen on June 6 welcomed a visiting film crew from the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (CICAI) led by famous director Isabel Santos Tellez. The Deputy Director General highly valued the Vietnam–Cuba traditional cooperation, friendship and solidarity since the two countries established diplomatic ties over 40 years ago. He also thanked the Cuban people for their precious assistance and sentiments to Vietnam during the war and its national construction and defence. The VNA leader briefed the guests on the VNA’s development stages which are contributed to by a contingent of over 2,300 officials and reporters working in 63 domestic bureaus in cities and provinces nationwide and 30 overseas bureaus. Vietnam News Agency inaugurates information centre in Hanoi
The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) inaugurated and put into use its information centre in Hanoi on August 11 as part of activities celebrating its 70 th founding anniversary (September 15). Headquartered at No. 21 Pham Dinh Ho Street, the six-storey building will provide a variety of mainstream source news on electronic, paper, television and audio platforms that vividly reflect every aspect of life in Hanoi. In his opening remarks, VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi requested the Hanoi bureau do its best to run the centre effectively. Long An (VNA) - The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the southern province of Long An on March 8 signed an agreement on communications cooperation, allowing both sides to support each other in the field. Under the agreement, Long An will provide information to VNA correspondents in the locality while creating favourable conditions for them in their operations. The VNA will publish news on aspects of Long An in all media forms it publishes as well as assist the province in communications for both internal and foreign relations purposes.
